Lesli Dalaba: Acupuncture in Seattle on Capitol Hill


Lesli Dalaba, L.Ac., received her masters degree in acupuncture from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NIAOM) in Seattle in 1992. She then completed a three-month post-graduate internship at the Zhejiang Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in Hangzhou, China. After returning from China, she and Christopher Huson opened Neighborhood Acupuncture on Capitol Hill. Lesli received her Chinese Herbal Medicine certificate in 1998.

Besides working in her private practice (which now includes locations in both Capitol Hill and Ballard), Lesli was a faculty member of NIAOM for seven years up to the school’s closing in 2002. She taught and supervised interns in their clinical work. Lesli has also worked for King Country Drug Court, treating addictions with acupuncture, and for two years at the Kang Wen Clinic for people with HIV. She served 1 1/2 years on the Board of the Acupuncture Association of Washington.

Lesli is also an accomplished musician who has played and recorded with many notable musicians such as Fred Frith and Elliot Sharp. She is the leader of The Yellow Hat Band, a 10-piece community brass band in Seattle.
