Insurance and Billing
I am contracted with several different health insurance companies to provide acupuncture (primarily for pain management). If you have health insurance in Washington state, your health insurance policy may have acupuncture as a covered benefit.
There are a lot of different types of policies and benefit packages. Many require the payment of a co-pay at the time of service. Many plans have deductibles. It is up to you to know what your benefits are.
As a service to my patients, I bill insurance companies with whom I am contracted. I employ a billing service to take care of this for me, so I can spend more time with my patients and less time on the phone.
If you have been in a motor-vehicle accident, Personal Injury Protection insurance almost always covers acupuncture for pain management (and it can be surprisingly effective). With this type of insurance, I always use my billing service.
Finally, if you don't have Health Insurance, no problem. I have a reasonably priced fee schedule which, if one pays at the time-of-service, is significantly discounted from my normal and customary charges.
